The Improved Holland Gin Cocktail is an old-school recipe from mixology legend Jerry Thomas.

  • 2 oz Bols genever
  • 3 dashes Rich simple syrup (2 parts sugar, 1 part water)
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 1 dash Dry orange curaçao
  • 1 dash Absinthe
  • Garnish: Lemon peel

  1. Add all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice and stir.

  2. Strain into a cocktail glass.

  3. Garnish with a lemon peel.
